“Becoming a direct provider for the Veterans Affair (receiving our first government contract.)”

“The Circle of Community Grant helped Gifted Care Service grow by paying for general and professional liability commercial insurance. In-home care, you must get the right insurance coverage for potential contracts, medical emergencies, accidents, etc. The Circle of Community Grant funded for up to a year our 24/7 answering service that the Kansas Department of Health Environments requires for an agency to start operating in Kansas.”

“BEFH has helped me in my entrepreneurial journey tremendously. I have received 1 on 1 time to perfect pitches, training classes like Black and Bankable helped me get a $2000 grant, set up markets to help me get the word out about my business, and access to capital events so we can talk to banks and resources directly and so much more. Personally, BEFH helped me when I was about six months into operating my business and felt so overwhelmed doing most of the work by myself because of call-outs, employee turnovers etc. , policies and regulations changes, and clients with emergencies that demanded my time outside of business, being a single mom with a disabled daughter, being the supporter of the family and everything along with being an entrepreneur had me exhausted. Jermaine and Shelia were the first people to ask me if I was ok without knowing anything. Jermaine was at an event, I said I was ok but if I had stopped to engage in that conversation, I know I would have cried because no one ever asked me they only requested help from me, and Shelia reached out over the phone, since that phone call I'm now signed up with Black Joy is Healing Program and doing better.”

Describe the importance of having a business community like BEFH.
“This community is extremely important to have BEFH is the only organization that invested funds in Gifted Care Service and because of the blank and bankable class I received a community grant. ”

“All of them!”

“BEFH has referred people and I have an employee who was referred from BEFH facebook page.

“Without that grant, it would have taken me extremely long to save up the money to start operating.”
